A late nineteenth/early twentieth century Scottish provincial carved wood and silver mounted quaich, the body carved with beasts and Celtic knot work, with twin lug handles, the bowl applied to centre with a central silver boss with gothic engraved motto SGUAB AS'I (the Gaelic phrase meaning 'Toss it back’ or ‘Sweep it away’).
The silver mounts marked, ‘W.T’ and ‘INVSS’.

Condition: Excellent antique condition. Free from repairs. The wood body retains good definition to the carved decoration, no losses. The silver mounts in good order.
